The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD arrives on Wii U in October, but not only graphically upgraded. The game will include new features and tweaks to make the experience feel fresh. A new first-person mode has been added as well as an enhanced camera that allows players to take selfies as Link.
A revamped triforce hunt that appears late in the game will let players speed their way through the ocean to lessen the blow of sailing for long periods of time. I remember the triforce hunt from the original GameCube version and I like to forget it. Finally, a hard mode of the game was added with Hero Mode, which is the Master Quest equivalent from Ocarina of Time. In Hero Mode, players will have no luck finding recovery hearts and notice that enemies do twice as much damage.
I was skeptical when the game was first announced, but when I got my hands on it I fell in love again. The game still looks breathtaking. For those of you in the Los Angeles area, you can play it for yourself as well as other major Wii U releases for this year on Hollywood and Highland until the end of the month.
